Broadmoor was awarded this project just after Hurricane Katrina to
restore the Hilton Riverside Hotel and Towers.
With everyone from emergency relief teams to college students relocated
in the hotel, Broadmoor crews provided the survey of damage and remediation
plans, with onsite supervision for the duration of the project while occupied. Broadmoor worked 7 days a week and many night
shifts to get facilities ready for use by Mardi Gras 2006.
The survey revealed extensive damage to the roof and exterior skin from
wind, and much of the interiors from the subsequent water infiltration.
Broadmoor designed and reconstructed the 1st Floor Lobby and
Reception Desk, the 2nd Floor Check–In Desk, a Conference Center,
and various ballrooms and meeting spaces.
Guestrooms and public spaces were repaired with new wall finishes,
millwork, cabinets and counters, carpet and flooring, lighting and electrical
fixtures. Major roof repairs were
performed and a new canopy was installed at the Main Entrance cul-de-sac.
