Broadmoor has had the privilege of working with the United States Navy on a number of assignments in the Gulf Coast region. After the hurricanes of 2005, we had the opportunity to step up and provide fast-track services to help resume normal Naval operations.
One of the most demanding projects in Broadmoor’s organizational history was executed for the Navy at the Naval Air Technical Training Center in Pensacola, for which we ultimately received the Naval Commander’s Letter of Commendation. Hurricane Ivan had caused extensive interior and exterior damage to the building, the primary training facility on the campus. Broadmoor was quickly contracted for the complete rebuilding of Chevalier Hall, returning it to full operations in just 90 days. The project was originally valued at $21 Million, but expansions in scope and design plans added an additional $15 Million of construction work to the assignment, which Broadmoor was able to absorb into the original 90-day schedule.
Besides offices, the 1 Million square foot building includes hangars, classrooms and laboratories used in training aviation specialists for the Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Army, Coast Guard and allied nations.
