The construction of the Harrah’s Jazz Company Temporary
Casino inside one of the grandest historic buildings in New Orleans is an
interesting contrast between old architecture and new. Broadmoor and Harvey
Honore Construction formed a joint venture to deliver the Temporary Casino to
the owners ahead of schedule and within budget.
The rigorous schedule and unbending demand for completion challenged the
pre-planning and project management teams to coordinate a wide range of
entities and demanded a grueling work schedule that saw construction operations
ongoing around the clock.
The jazz theme is carried throughout the casino with artwork
depicting the all-time greats of the jazz world and the birth of jazz in our
city. With elements from an old Mardi
Gras tradition, the theme is exciting and welcomed in this grande dame of New
Orleans architectural landmarks.
